On February 1st, 2012 we held our acadmic awards chapel service. Students were recognized for outstanding attendance, diligent work in the classroom, and making the honor roll.
A week before graduation, our 7th and 8th graders shared their unique children's tales with Kindergarten and 4th grade. Eighth graders put their own spin on a traditional fairy tale and 7th graders created a book with a simple story line and lots of illustrations for the younger kids. Check out the fun they had!
Storytime was made extra special with watermelon and sherbert punch to drink!
6th Annual Race for Education - May 5th, 2011
On Thursday, May 5th, HPCA students participated in the 6th Annual Race for Education! Each grade raised funds and ran for one hour around the track in Hunting Park on a beautiful spring day. We had music, tons of cheering, and even the Chick-Fil-A cow came out to join the fun! Check out the pictures from our full-day event!
Thanks to our students, parents, and volunteers for making this yet another GREAT Race for Education! We couldn't have done it without all of your hard work!
On March 7, 2011, our eighth grade class created a poetry cafe, inviting our fourth grade students to attend. The fourth grade students enjoyed their iced coffee and tea sandwiches and listened intently to the wonderful poetry read by eighth grade. The had a time after the readings to ask our poets questions.
In February, HPCA held a "Love Your Neighbor" contest in partnership with Langhorne Presbyterian Church. LPC made a significant contribution to our scholarship fund through their peacemaking offering and in response, our students created artwork (drawings, poetry, songs, etc.) showing what they have learned this year about "Loving Your Neighbor", the theme of our school year. The video below showcases the winners of the contest, two middle school students who wrote and performed an original song, "Love that is Shared".
