poverty level in communityEducation is a great need in our community. 

The high school drop-out rate is 32%, and only 6% of community members have a 4-year college degree or higher. 

According to the neighborhood elementary school's school progress report for the year 2015-2016, only 7% of the students were proficient in math and 13% were proficient in English Language Arts. 

According to the neighborhood middle school's school progress report for the year 2015-2016, only 1% of the students were proficient in math and 6% were proficient in English Language Arts. 

There is also a great spiritual need in our community.

Our district had the highest homicide rate in the city in 2016.  The 19140 zip code also has a high rate of domestic violence, drugs, and prostitution.

God is at work in Hunting Park.

While the above statistics may seem bleak, we see God at work in Hunting Park.  Within a few blocks of HPCA, there are many organizations working to make a lasting positive impact in the community.  Here are a few (click on names for more information):
